Journey on waterways

The locals from Valeni village have „The Path of Petru Rares”. This road has remained along the centuries, as a testimony of the place's past and history. The route winds for a distance of 9 km through the thickets of rush, reeds, willows, making access to the other bank of the Prut River. According to the village legend, Petru Rares went fishing and hunting on this path, before he became the ruler of Moldova. Legend tells that during one of these hunting, Petru Rares dreamed of the Golden Hills of Valeni bowing to him, and the next day he found out the news that he would become the ruler of Moldova.
