The house museum - Alexei Mateevici, Zaim village, Causeni

The building of the house-museum was built by the writer's father - the priest Mihail Mateevici, near the church in the village. The wide courtyard of the museum is beautifully decorated with trees and flowers. The monument to Alexei Mateevici is erected next to the house museum.

Description

The building has six halls. Three of them are memorial halls: the parents' room, the children's room and the Mateevici family library. The other three exhibition halls: the bust hall, the „I sing” hall and the „Our Language” hall. 

Heritage:

  • The heritage has over 7000 exhibits, not only the poet's paintings and sculptures, but also documents, books written and signed by his hand, which he read before bed, his family's photos, as well as the poet's personal belongings.

  • In one of the halls of the museum is the „Table of Silence” where the dust of some classic Romanian writers is stored. 

Good to know! Every year, between March 16-30, the „Mateevici National Days” take place in Zaim village, and literary contests and scientific conferences are organized throughout the year.
