Description
In the summer, balls and parties with fiddlers and gypsies were organized here. It is said that the young Pushkin falls in love with the gypsy Zamfira, to whom he dedicates some poems. The thrill of the local „doina” (folk songs), Codri inspired the poet to write immortal verses from Eugene Onegin, Gypsies, Black Shawl etc.
The museum has two levels. Upstairs, 15 halls are open to the public. They are decorated with XIXth-century furniture from various museums in the former USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The exhibits are not personal belongings of the family, only a few letters on display belonged to the Ralli family.
Good to know! Here you will find a park and a beautiful orchard where you can spend time outdoors.
