Museum of History and Ethnography, Slobozia Mare village, Cahul

Now the museum has 6 halls, all joined together by cuts in the walls, each hall has its name: „Motherland”, „History”, „Peasant objects and tools”, „Memory”, „Economy”, „Science, education, culture”. Visiting the halls of the museum you will witness history over time: occupation, wars, organized famine, deportations, collectivization and denationalization, poisoning of water and soil, etc.

The heritage of the museum:

The current profile of the museum is ethnography and natural sciences. The most representative collections were set up between 1920 and 1990:

• Tools, household and archeological objects, agricultural inventory made in workshops and rural households;

• Means of transport (carts, sledges, fishing boats), as well as special fragments;

• Ethnography - technical installations, household textile industry (fabrics), household objects, furniture, ceramics, cult objects, custom props, photographs, illustrations, postcards, audio tapes and discs;

• Memorialist - personal goods and objects, documents from the life of personalities, goods related to events of national and international importance
