Edinet County Museum, Edinet city

The museum impresses with everything: 

• location in the center of Edinet city, in the immediate vicinity of the beautiful Public Garden „Vasile Alecsandri”;

• the architecture of the 2 buildings in which the museum operates. The basic building is a coquette one, like a mansion, the second is simpler but very well maintained;

• museographers trained, hospitable and especially dedicated to the work of removing from anonymity the historical, ethnographic, literary, artistic values, their preservation and promotion;

• the heritage of the museum is distributed in the three basic sections: History, Folk Art, Nature. We mention that it is the first museum in the territory in which we noticed such a meticulous evidence of all the exhibited objects and of course the attractive arrangement, which highlights the value of the exhibits. We find in the museum specimens of the flora and fauna of the Northern Area, the dowry box, valuable folk costumes, old traditional carpets, peasant furniture, wooden tools, tin decorations, ceramic objects, stone, which were used or are still used around houses, wells, agricultural works, etc.;

• painting on the interior walls with various rustic scenes, characteristic of the rural communities in the area, which transposes everyone into an atmosphere of comfort „like at grandparents”' house;

• and the paintings of Mister Gheorghe Oprea, plastic artist-museographer from the Republic of Moldova exhibited in the museum fascinate you with various styles: from national, popular motifs to modern style. The master was born in the Tarnova village, Edinet district, he exhibited some works from his personal collection, managing to bring to the museum part of the „infinity oven”.
